Seller Information SATISFACTION GUARANTEED! MONEY BACK POLICY HONESTY IN GRADING BUY WITH CONFIDENCE CUSTOMER SERVICE PACKING RECORDS FOR SHIPPING: I pack all my records the same way...removed from the cover (to guard against seam splits in transit), with appropriate stiffeners/padding in a cardboard LP mailer. If weight category/price allows, the LP is put into a scrap cover. I have, upon request (resulting in extra charges because of the weight) double packed by putting the sealed mailer, thus packed, into a padded 14 X 14 inch X 2 inch pizza box. I believe this to be unnecessary and a bit of over-kill, but if the customer wants and feels the need and is willing to pay...it will be done. A WORD ABOUT RECORD GRADING: I grade my records very honestly...you will never see a MINT grade in my listings....simply because, if it has been opened, it is USED. The MINT grade is reserved for NEW/SEALED records, but even these could be warped or be a bad pressing and skips (I have had the experience!). So, therefore, an opened record can look (and play) like new, but it IS opened and it HAS been played, so HOW can it be MINT? The closest I figure (conservatively) it can be is NM+ (NEAR MINT PLUS) . I have been collecting and listening to vinyl since approximately 1965. I do not consider myself an "audiophile"...I have very few direct-to-disc/half-speed-mastered/180 gram/audiophile pressings. I DO NOT own a $10k+ stereo system. I just like good clean sounding vinyl music and try to pass this on to my customers....please refer to my Feedback. DISCLAIMER: There are those with stereo systems that, for the cost of, I could pay off my mortgage (or buy another house). There is myself with a very adequate system assembled with used equipment from the ages... I figure if it sounds great on my system, it should sound great on a higher end system and fantastic on one not so high end!. Some listeners have such sensitive and refined hearing that no record (or system) will ever satisfy them... others like to party with the volume at 11. One other thing....it is impossible to listen to every record I list. Some are part of my personal collection and others are recent acquisitions I have listened to in their entirety. This fact (the listening) will be referred to in the listing description. Other records, after a visual inspection/grading will be test played on suspect parts to get the true story. Grading NM+ Second highest grade possible,(if you count mint) just like I personally unwrapped it, definitely play tested. Must play clean and static free, except for anomlies inherent in the format(barely audible ticks)...NO visual or audio defects. Only one or two light paper scuffs allowed!...after all, it isn't mint. The cover will be like new, NO wear. NEAR MINT General over-all brand new condition. Can show signs of handling/playing..a few paper scuffs, no scratches, must play and look clean, no static, no repetitive ticks. Cover is still like new, any wear hard to detect. Delete marks are allowed(and noted), also, shrink wrap is a plus as are original inner sleeves and lyric sheets/posters/etc., within the three categories in this grade. NM- Still brand new condition, but played a little more. More paper scuffs allowed, can have inaudible surface scratches, NO static, NO repetitive ticks, nothing that can be considered irritating or would detract from the listening experience. Cover is in close to new condition, but appears "previously owned" on close inspection.(1st glance,2nd look) ------------------------------------------ EX++ This grade is better than Excellent, but for whatever reason just doesn't "make the grade" to the Near Mint category. For example, a record can be in new condition, but because of one too many scuffs, it looks too used to get into Near Mint even though it sounds perfect. With a cover it is usually just too many defects in combination, that keeps it here. The "first glance, second look" rule is the defining factor here. EX+ This grade is a "fine tuning" of the parameters listed below, a cut above. EXCELLENT The vinyl will definitely look used, to what degree is determined by the above and below categories in this grade. Generally, though the vinyl will still be new looking and can have a variety of surface defects including scratches, abrasions, scrapes and scuffing. NONE of these defects will predominant when played. For example, repetitive ticks are allowed, but NEVER for an entire song. They should just come and go, not be a constant reminder that they are there. If the scratch causes the listener to cringe or fear for the safety of the stylus, it does not belong here. Ideally, a scratch, abrasion, scrape(tick) or scuff(static) should be seen and not heard. Light static of the type that is so fleeting you are not sure you heard it and have to relisten to be sure, is allowable. Nothing that interfers with the enjoyment of the listening experience in this grade! Cover defects can include (depending on degree of) initial or beginning surface, edge and corner wear, slight or light yellowing, creasing, writing, small tears, slightly crunched corners, stains/water damage, etc.. These or any combination thereof, taken in consideration with the over-all general condition of the cover will determine the grade. The cover at first glance should look "Excellent". EX- This includes records and covers that are in the Excellent grade, but for whatever reasons (see above) are in the bottom category. The grading is based on the quantity of defects and how pronounced they are in relation to the audio and visual parameters outlined above. ------------------------------------------ GOOD The record could have (at the least) intermittent to (at the worse) almost constant surface noise (heavy scuffing/abrasions), of varying degrees, along with ticks and pops (scratches) that are noticable while the music is playing. The surface can have scratches, scuffs and abrasions, though not always....I have records that look new/excellent, but sound like a piece of sandpaper because of groove wear caused by too much play with a worn stylus. The cover has tape, excessive writing , medium to heavy wear, large tears/seam splits, etc on it. As original and hard to find recordings, I believe records in this grade are a valid item, in the stated condition, to be offered for sale. Items graded in POOR/GOOD categories are sold as is, no return. ------------------------------------------ POOR This category is for records and covers that would have collector value only. To offer something in this category is for it's essential rare value for completion of a collection. ------------------------------------------ Return Policy
